SXCCE CSE 20th Year Reunion: A Nostalgic Journey by the Sea

On the 17th of August, 2024, the 4th Batch of Computer Science Engineering from SXCCE gathered at Annai Resort, located by the serene seashore of Kanyakumari, for their 20th year reunion. The event, meticulously organized by Jacks, Jerin, and Vijay, was a perfect blend of nostalgia and reflection, as old friends reunited in person and online.
The event began with a warm welcome from Anto Sir, whose presence immediately brought a wave of nostalgia. His words set the tone for the day, reminding everyone of the close-knit community they had built during their college years. The reunion was designed to be inclusive, with batchmates like Sujay, Maragathavalli, James, and Anand joining the festivities via Zoom, ensuring that distance was no barrier to reliving old memories. Additionally, more participants joined offline, including name1, name2, name3, and a few others, making the event even more special. The setup allowed everyone to feel connected, no matter where they were in the world.
Maragathavalli, who joined the meetup online, shared her incredible journey of becoming a cybersecurity expert. She spoke about the challenges she faced in a rapidly evolving industry and how her time at SXCCE laid the foundation for her success. Her story was inspiring, a testament to how the seeds of curiosity planted during college had grown into a career protecting the digital world.
Marshal, another participant, shared his remarkable transformation from a shy student to the CTO of iCliniq, a multi-million dollar company that now caters to consumers in 197 countries. He reflected on how the experiences and friendships from SXCCE played a crucial role in shaping his leadership skills and confidence.
Shobini, who had returned to SXCCE as the Assistant Head of the Department (HOD), shared her unique journey of coming back to the place where it all began. She spoke about the satisfaction of teaching the next generation of engineers and how the college had grown alongside her.
The reunion was filled with laughter as more stories were shared. One of the highlights was the reminiscing about PD sir, the legendary physical director known for his strict discipline. His unwavering vigilance in guarding the campus like a policeman was a source of many amusing anecdotes, bringing back memories of those days when sneaking out for a late-night snack felt like a high-stakes mission.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the batchmates gathered around a bonfire on the beach, continuing to share stories and memories. The warmth of the fire and the sound of the waves provided the perfect backdrop for a slideshow of old photos, bringing to life the shared experiences that had shaped their lives.
The SXCCE 4th Batch CSE reunion was more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of the enduring bonds formed two decades ago. Whether in person or online, the connection among the batchmates remained as strong as ever. As they bid farewell, there was a shared sense of gratitude for the journey they had taken together and the promise of many more memories to be made.
